Lafarge Q4 profit falls; cuts dividend; announces EUR 1.5 bln rights issue - Update

Friday, French building materials company Lafarge SA (LFRGY.PK) reported sharply lower profit for its fourth quarter, hurt mainly by goodwill write-offs and the absence of last year's disposal gains, together with lower sales performance in European and North American regions. Further, Lafarge announced a 4.5 billion euros action plan to strengthen its financial structure, including a 1.5 billion euros rights issue, and also announced a cut in dividend.
